Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hi Nakia,
Dragging and dropping attachments is currently not supported in New Outlook for Windows. This is a known limitation in the resigned Outlook client.
As a workaround, you can switch back to Classic Outlook by turn off the toggle button in the top right corner of the window.
Or using Outlook web https://outlook.office.com. Drag and drop to desktop or file folders does work in most browsers.
While I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for, I want to assure you that your feedback is truly valued. As an independent advisors, my role is to guide users to the right resources and support channels, though I don’t have direct influence over product design decisions or access to internal development timelines.
That’s why your input is so important. The most effective way to make your voice heard is through Microsoft’s official feedback channel. The product team actively reviews customer suggestions to identify areas for improvement and prioritize future updates.
Go to: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub > Send Feedback> Describe your proposal in detail.
Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.
Additionally, many other users have raised similar concerns but may not know the best place to submit feedback. If my response has helped clarify the situation and provided a useful path forward, please consider marking it as "Yes".
Doing so will help surface this discussion to the top of the community, making it easier for others experiencing the same issue to find the information and add their support.
Thank you again for taking the time to share this important usability concern. Your feedback is valuable and helps highlight the impact this limitation has on users' daily workflows.
