A Premium subscription does include Copilot features and AI credits, but some Copilot capabilities can have usage limits and can vary over time. For image generation in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, quality and performance may also vary depending on service availability, and if the service is unavailable Copilot notifies that it is unavailable.
For PowerPoint specifically, check these supported fixes first:
- Make sure the app is signed in with the Microsoft account that has the Premium subscription.
- Refresh the Microsoft 365 license:
- In any Microsoft 365 app on Windows: File > Account > Update License.
- On Mac: select the app name at the top of the screen > About <app name> > More Info... > Refresh License.
- Close all Microsoft 365 apps and restart them so the refreshed license takes effect.
- Make sure Microsoft 365 is on the latest build.
- If using Mac, in Word go to Word > Preferences > Privacy and confirm both of these are turned on:
- Experiences that analyze your content
- All connected experiences
- If the issue is in the web apps, refresh the browser page and allow third-party cookies, because blocked third-party cookies can prevent Copilot from validating the license.
If the problem is only with image features, that can also be consistent with temporary service availability variation rather than the subscription itself.
Reverting to Personal is not supported as a troubleshooting conclusion from the available guidance. The supported next step is:
- If this is a home subscription and the issue continues after the checks above, contact Support.
