The simulated Purview portal link in Unit 11 returns a 401 and therefore I can't proceed with the simulation lab. Can I kindly be assisted with this issue. At first I assumed it was a malware and ran security scans on my end only to find that it's a legitimate source.

This is most likely an authentication/session problem with the embedded Learn simulator, not malware on your device. A 401 means the simulator did not receive or accept valid authorization for that launch.

    Try this sequence:

    1. Close the simulator tab and return to Unit 11.
    2. Confirm that you are signed in to Microsoft Learn, refresh the unit, and launch the simulation again from the button in the unit. Do not reuse a bookmarked or copied simulator URL, because the launch session may have expired.
    3. Allow third-party cookies and pop-ups for Microsoft Learn, and temporarily disable strict tracking protection or an ad blocker for that page.
    4. If it still fails, clear the site data for Microsoft Learn, sign in again, and retry in a new InPrivate/Incognito window using Edge or Chrome.

If a clean relaunch still returns 401, the simulation asset or its authorization configuration may need to be repaired by the content team. Use the Report a problem option at the bottom of Unit 11 and include the module and unit title, the time of the failure, browser/version, and a screenshot of the 401 page.

Your security scan was reasonable, but a 401 is an authentication response and is not evidence that the link is malicious.
