ok just upgraded to Windows 11 25H2 26200.8875 Release Preview

After it finished installing I ran all the dism commands as well as sfc.

After those completed I rebooted my system.

Upon reboot I then proceeded to Windows defender and ran an offline scan.

The scan completed, however upon reboot the system jumped into Automatic Recovery Mode.

Has anyone else had this happen or know the reason this might happen?

I have never seen this in the past.

or is this a bug with the July update?

    Hello Kirbster,

I tried to follow the steps you took running Dism, which there is no need for unless sfc fails with errors. One

I rebooted then ran an offline scan:

    two

The computer ran the offline scan and rebooted back to the Desktop as it should. Why you consistently have issues with Defender, I have no idea what is going on with your system and what you do.

    Regards,

    Johnny
