As a forum moderator, I would like to clarify that I do not have the ability to change or influence Microsoft's product policies, support lifecycle decisions, or operating system requirements. I can only share information based on Microsoft's published documentation and my understanding of how these products are supported.

Dear @Trend Fan,

Thank you for posting your question.

Based on your description, it is possible that your iPhone is running an iOS version that is no longer supported by the latest Microsoft Teams mobile app. Microsoft periodically updates the minimum supported operating system versions to maintain security, reliability, and compatibility with newer features.

This may explain why Teams worked previously but is now prompting you to update iOS. While an older device can often continue working for some time, support for older operating systems may eventually be discontinued when new Teams releases require newer iOS versions.

According to Microsoft's official Teams system requirements documentation, Teams mobile support depends on supported iOS/iPadOS versions, and older operating systems may no longer be compatible with current Teams releases.

To better understand your situation, could you please let me know:

  • Which iPhone model you are using?
  • Which iOS version is currently installed?
  • Whether this is a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
  • If possible, a screenshot of the exact message shown by Teams?

One additional possibility is that, if this is a work account, your organization's IT administrator may have implemented a security policy that requires a newer iOS version before Teams can be used. In that case, the requirement would come from your organization's configuration rather than Teams itself.

I hope this helps explain why the application may now require an update even though it worked in the past. I look forward to your update and will be happy to help further once we know the iPhone model and iOS version involved.
Warm regards.
