Unable to delete the Postgres Instance, trying same from last 2 weeks. I have attached screenshot for ref. Please guide.

Mahesh A hi & thx for sharing urs issue here at Q&A portal,

screenshot suggests the server isn't actually in a normal running or stopped state. It's stuck in an internal disabled state 'The server is currently in 'disabled' state. Please wait for the operation to complete.'

If it's been like this for two weeks, this is almost certainly a stuck control-plane operation rather than something you can resolve yourself. Coz the resource is still considered to be in the middle of an operation, Azure won't allow actions like Delete, Start, or Restart until that backend state is cleared. I'd look the Activity Log to see if there's a failed or long-running operation that never completed. If there is, note the correlation ID and timestamp. At this point, though, I don't think there's a customer-side fix. You'll need Microsoft Support to investigate the backend state and either complete or clear the stuck operation before the server can be deleted. When opening the support request, pls include the server name (plytrade-botmet), subscription ID, region, and mention that the server has remained in the disabled state for approximately two weeks and cannot be deleted. Im sure that will help the PostgreSQL Flexible Server team locate the stuck operation in the control plane.

    Since the PostgreSQL Flexible Server has remained in the Disabled state for approximately two weeks, please check the Activity Log for the operation that occurred immediately before the server entered this state.

    In particular, review any failed or incomplete Start, Stop, Restart, Update, or Delete operations and share the operation name, status, error details, timestamp, and correlation ID.

    You can also check the current resource state using Azure CLI:

    az postgres flexible-server show --resource-group plytrade-botmet-dev --name plytrade-botmet

    Please share the output of the state and provisioningState fields, along with the error details from the failed deletion attempt. This information will help determine whether the resource is blocked by an incomplete management operation or another resource-state issue.

    Hi! First check whether the server or resource group has a ReadOnly or CanNotDelete resource lock. Also review the Activity Log immediately after another deletion attempt; it should reveal whether RBAC, a lock, or the server’s provisioning state is blocking it. Try deleting it with Azure CLI as well. If both the portal and CLI leave it stuck in a deleting or failed state, Azure Support will need to clear the backend operation.
