    Dear @Michelle Wade,

If you were promised a free month, you should normally still be able to use the subscription during the trial period, provided the subscription is active and Office has been successfully activated.

The fact that you cannot edit documents suggests that the Office apps may not be activated, or the subscription isn't being recognized by the account currently signed in to Office apps. Microsoft notes that when Office is unlicensed or unable to verify the subscription, documents can be opened but editing is disabled. If you see a notice to buy, renew, or reactivate your Microsoft 365 subscription when you open Word, Excel, or any other Office application, you'll need to take action in order to keep using Office.

For reference: A subscription notice appears when I open a Microsoft 365 application

To help me better understand the issue, could you please provide the following information:

    1. Could you clarify which free month offer you are referring to?
    2. Are you receiving any error message when trying to edit your documents? If so, please provide a screenshot of the error message.

Please feel free to reply with the requested details, and I’ll provide the next steps right away.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
