How to fix error code drowned on an android tablet s10 ultra after ui 8.5 update and Minecraft Bedrock update.

I have an issue with minecraft bedrock edition where whenever I try to sign into my school account it immediately gives me a login error with the error code drowned.

This error code didn't show up at all before until I got a Minecraft and software update on my tablet. My tablet, the galaxy tab s10 ultra got an ui update from 8.4 to 8.5, and Minecraft bedrock version went up to v26.33 (as shown in the screenshot in the bottom right corner.)9179

I have tried every possible fix I could find along with the help of my other friend, like clearing data, reinstalling Minecraft entirely, refreshing the tablet itself or doing some of the recommendations like turning off your wifi, then loading into Minecraft, then turning back on the wifi and trying to log in, but none of those worked.

I would really like to get information on this or even an idea for a potential fix, since I would want to play with friend soon.

    Hi Denis Yakauleu

I understand how frustrating it is when Minecraft suddenly stops working after updates, especially when you've already tried all common troubleshooting steps. You're not alone, there've been a few similar reports as of lately, however, I'm not yet aware of any confirmation on known issue yet. Consider trying these additional checks to see if any of them help:

    • Refer to the suggestions in this official guidance on Troubleshoot the Drowned Error Code in Minecraft | Minecraft Help
    • Verify that the Microsoft account can still sign in successfully at account.microsoft.com in a web browser on the tablet.
    • Change the Microsoft account password, then try signing in again to force a fresh account sign-in session.
    • Check Xbox and Microsoft service status to ensure there is no active sign-in outage affecting account authentication.
    • Open Minecraft > Settings > Profile > Clear Account Sign-in Data (if available) > restart the tablet and sign in again.

Given that several users encountered similar problem (which you think began after OS and game updates), there's a possibility of a compatibility or authentication regression. In that case, consider submitting a ticket through official Minecraft Support so they can investigate whether there is a known issue:

    1. Sign in and fill in Minecraft Support Form
    2. Describe the issue, error, your device's specs and game version.
    3. All troubleshooting already attempted (reinstall, clear data, device restart, offline sign-in, etc.)

I wish I could provide more direct help in your situation, but Microsoft Q&A is just a community platform. We fellow users do not have access to backend system and cannot proceed further. I hope that this will be investigated and resolve soon!
