The blank pages indicate a printing pipeline issue that affects both the physical printer and the Print to PDF (virtual printer). Use these steps to isolate and fix it:

    1. Confirm it is not app‑specific
      • Try printing the same content from another app (for example, Excel, PowerPoint, Notepad, or a browser).
      • If other apps print correctly, the issue is likely with the specific application’s print subsystem or document formatting. If all apps produce blank output, it is a system/printer driver issue.
    2. Check for Excel‑style “blank but formatted” pages (if the issue occurs in Excel)
Excel can print pages that look blank because of formatting: white font, custom formats that hide values, errors set to print as blank, or drawing objects in unexpected areas.
      • In Excel, go to File > Print.
      • Under Print range, select only the pages that actually contain data.
This avoids printing pages that are technically “blank” but still part of the print area.
    3. Update Office and Windows
      • Install the latest updates for Microsoft 365/Office and Windows using Microsoft Update. Outdated components can cause print preview or output issues, including blank pages.
      • If using Click‑to‑Run Office (e.g., Microsoft 365), open Word/Excel, go to File > Account > Update Options, and apply updates.
    4. Update or reinstall printer drivers
Driver problems commonly cause blank output or missing content even when print preview looks correct.
      • Go to the printer manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for the printer model.
      • If the driver is already current but issues persist, uninstall the printer and its software, restart the PC, then reinstall using the manufacturer’s package.
      • For cases where print preview is correct but cells or content disappear on paper, updating/reinstalling the printer driver is specifically recommended.
    5. Test with Microsoft Print to PDF
      • In the app, choose File > Print and select Microsoft Print to PDF.
      • If the resulting PDF is correct, the document is fine and the physical printer/driver is the issue.
      • If the PDF is also blank, the problem is in the application’s print pipeline or document formatting.
    6. Disable advanced printing features and check the spooler (Windows)
      For “no print output” scenarios:
      • Open Devices and Printers (press the Windows logo key + S, type "Devices and printers").
      • Right‑click the printer, choose Printer properties, then:
        • On the Advanced tab, clear Enable advanced printing features.
        • Restart the Print Spooler service.
      • Check the spool folder at %systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers for old or corrupted files; move them out after stopping the Print Spooler service, then restart the service and test printing again.
    7. Reset printing system (macOS)
If using a Mac and Word/Office apps show blank print dialogs or cannot print/export correctly:
      • Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
      • Control‑click (or right‑click) in the printer list or empty area and choose Reset printing system.
      • Restart the Mac.
      • Add the printers back and test printing and Print to PDF again.
    8. If browser‑based printing is affected (Edge or IE)
      • In Microsoft Edge, when print preview fails or is blank, cancel the dialog, restart Edge, and try printing again (Ctrl+P).
      • For Internet Explorer 11, blank print/preview pages were fixed by installing the most recent cumulative security update via Windows Update.

If, after these steps, both physical printing and Print to PDF still produce blank pages across multiple apps, the issue is likely with the system’s print subsystem or a low‑level driver conflict, and further investigation with updated drivers and spooler cleanup is recommended.
