As my current PC does not fully satisfy the Windows 11 specs I wanted to take advantage of the extended security updates program via the Settings -> Windows Update menu. However, the registration keeps failing at the end of the process without a clear error. How can i possibly solve this issue, as I reckon it's not a problem with my PC but rather an issue with Microsoft?

It is possible that your PC is already registered for ESU. To confirm this, please:
Open the Command Prompt and run the following command: reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\ESU"
Take a screenshot of the result and post it here.
