After voice recording, and click stop, I was given this error message. What to do?

Try rebooting your computer, then try again.
If there is still a problem with recording, try an Office Repair. The Online Repair option is more thorough.

This is a generalize error from PowerPoint and I cannot easily pin point the cause of it. However, I can narrow it down doing the basic troubleshooting first. Can you also tell me what computer(desktop or laptop) are you using and the peripherals mainly your microphone(make and model if external)
Can you do a test using a new blank presentation. Once created, add one slide and record a few seconds of audio then click stop. You need to observe if there error will show again.
