I tried to run to help remove a trojan on my win11 laptop

When I start the laptop up after a shutdown to access the link you provided the message states I have to run a scan now - e.tre456_worm_windows and I can't access anything else. I can't get past that page warning.
Maybe its a better idea to download scanner on another PC, save it on USB and then try on your PC.

Thank you for your help. I downloaded the file to my other computer and copied to a usb drive. I ran it on the main computer and had to be sure the computer wasn't connected to the web for it to run all the way through. The end report basically stated all virus files were cleared. I than ran Malwarebytes a couple of times and it also cleared out some files. I tried to update Windows Defender and it looked like it downloaded and updated successfully but in the end the update didn't stick. I tried a couple of times with no luck. I am going to check out the other link you updated and see what more I can do at this point.

Ok it looks like the Defender update worked this time and I ran another scan. Everything looked clear. But when I run Malawarebytes it always comes up with finding PUP.Optional.PulseBrowser in the Appdata\Local\PulseBrowserUpdater file. This file name came up a number of times when I was trying to eliminate the original problem. Is there something else I should do? Is there an additional virus protection program file I should be running to avoid problems in the future as it does not seem the Defender caught the original issue before all problems started? Thank you for you help.
Please download Malwarebytes Antimalware and run a scan. Eliminate every piece of malware it finds. Malwarebytes should also get rid of all adware and PUAs and browser hijackers.

Thank you for your help. I ran Malwarebytes a couple of times and it did find and quarantine several files. But when I try to update Windows Defender the update does not stick and does not give me an error message. I am still working on the issue as I don't think the computer is completely safe yet.
