Additional features, tools, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Advertising categories
Those "[Action Recommended]" budget emails are part of Microsoft Advertising’s ad performance optimization notifications. They are controlled by the Ad performance optimization category in your Microsoft Advertising email preferences.
To stop them (without using inbox rules):
- Sign in to Microsoft Advertising.
- From the left navigation menu, hover over Settings and select Email preferences.
- Select your user name.
- Make sure Ad performance optimization is turned Off for the account(s) where you’re receiving these emails:
- If you have one account: slide the switch for Ad performance optimization to the left (Off), then select Save.
- If you have multiple accounts: click the pencil icon next to Ad performance optimization, clear the check boxes for the accounts you don’t want emails from, then select Save.
These emails are optimization suggestions, not mandatory system or billing alerts, so turning off Ad performance optimization should stop them. Critical notifications (for example, depleted budgets, security, billing) may still be sent to primary contacts even when other categories are off.
Also note that when new accounts are added or you gain access to additional accounts, your current preferences are extended to them. If you later start receiving similar emails again, review Email preferences for any new accounts.
