Additional features, tools, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Advertising categories
Hello Rex Schrader,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!
The emails with subjects like “[Action Recommended] Your campaign budgets may be limiting performance” are usually related to Microsoft Advertising recommendation or optimization notifications.
Even if you have already turned off some notification preferences, please note that certain Microsoft Advertising email categories may not be fully disabled. Critical notifications may still be sent when necessary.
Based on Microsoft Advertising guidance, there are two ways to help reduce or stop certain recommendation-related emails and content:
1. Dismiss recommendation content in Microsoft Advertising
If these emails are connected to Recommendations in Microsoft Advertising, you may stop seeing specific recommendation types by dismissing them:
- In the left navigation menu, hover over Campaigns and select Recommendations.
- On the recommendation card, select the ellipsis (…) for the recommendation type.
- Select Dismiss all.
- You may also provide feedback if prompted.
This should help prevent recommendations of that specific type from appearing in that recommendation tile.
2. Manage your Microsoft Advertising email preferences
You can also manage certain account and marketing email categories by going to Settings and updating your Email preferences.
Under email preferences, you may be able to manage categories such as:
- Billing alerts
- Account management notifications
- Disapproved ads or keywords
- Ad performance optimization
- Payments
- Insertion orders
- Marketing preferences tied to your username
Please note that declining these emails may reduce the number of Microsoft Advertising emails you receive, but it may not eliminate all of them. For example, Primary Contacts may still receive critical notifications related to account security, billing, depleted budgets, or other important account matters.
If the emails you are receiving are related to Ad performance optimization, turning off the appropriate category under Email preferences may help reduce them. However, certain required or critical notifications may still continue to be sent.
Please see Setting Email Preferences for more details.
