A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.
For a long-pending Microsoft Rewards redemption, there is no self-service way to force completion or manually refund points. The only supported path is through Microsoft Rewards support, but there are a few concrete things that can be done to push for proper investigation instead of just retrying blindly.
- Verify order status and details
- Go to the Rewards page, select Redeem, then Order history.
- Locate the Amazon Pay Gift Card order and confirm the Status is still Pending (not Cancelled or Completed).
- If a confirmation email was never received, use Resend on the Order history page to trigger another copy.
- Check for common causes of order problems
The official guidance lists several reasons why Rewards orders can fail or be cancelled:
- Rewards must be redeemed in the same region where the account was registered.
- Redeeming in multiple regions or while using a VPN can cause issues.
- Using a VoIP phone number instead of a mobile/landline for authentication can block redemptions.
- The reward may be out of stock or unavailable. If any of these apply (for example, VPN use or region mismatch), correct them before pursuing a new redemption.
- Use the official Rewards support channels with specific wording
Since a generic “try again” response was already received, the next contact should be explicit that:
- The order has been in Pending for months.
- No code or confirmation was ever delivered.
- A new redemption will only be attempted if the original points are refunded or the stuck order is cancelled.
- Order date and reward type (Amazon Pay Gift Card – India).
- Current status from Order history (Pending).
- Statement that no email/code was received even after using Resend.
- Request for either: (a) completion and delivery of the original reward, or (b) cancellation of the stuck order with a full points refund.
- When to consider retrying a redemption
Official documentation notes that if a reward is out of stock or unavailable, points may be refunded or a comparable reward substituted. However, it does not state that users should redeem again without resolution of the first order. A second redemption should only be done after support confirms in writing that:
- The first order has been cancelled and points refunded, or
- The first order has been fulfilled and a code is visible in Order details.
- If support responses remain generic
- Continue using the Rewards support form and general Microsoft Support “Get Help” flow, explicitly referencing that this is a long-term Pending order, not a normal delay.
- Keep all ticket numbers and responses together; if a new agent replies, include the history and emphasize that the issue is not resolved by “try a new redemption.”
There is no documented time limit after which a Pending order auto-cancels or auto-refunds; resolution depends on Microsoft Rewards support intervention. The safest path is to insist on either fulfilment or a points refund for the existing order before attempting any new redemption.
