To get a student discount on Microsoft Certification exams, the student status must be verified in the Microsoft Learn profile. Selecting “Student” in the career path is only the first step; the actual verification and discount appear during exam registration.
Use the following checks and steps:
- Complete the student setup in Learn profile
- Sign in to the Learn profile and complete the Interest Survey with Career Paths → Student as already done.
- Check academic verification status
- Go to Learn profile settings (Certification Profile / Account Management section) and review linked accounts.
- If academic verification is successful, the student status or institutional email (for example, a university domain) appears as a linked account.
- Confirm discount during exam registration
- Go to any certification exam page and select Schedule exam.
- On the Certification Profile page, check that the job title area shows something like Student – Verified.
- If it shows only “Student” and not “Verified,” the registration flow should prompt for additional verification (for example, school email or documentation such as a student ID). Follow the on‑screen steps there to upload or provide proof.
- If upload or verification does not appear
- If there is no prompt to upload a university ID or complete verification, or the status never changes to verified, contact Credentials Support for help with the academic verification process and student discounts: Credentials Support.
Once the student status is verified, the academic discount is automatically applied at checkout when registering for an exam.
