Hello,

I am applying to Microsoft for Startups as a solo founder.

I completed LinkedIn verification and entered my startup details.

During Azure activation I received:

"You're not eligible for an Azure free account."

After that, I cannot access Founders Hub support. Clicking the ? icon results in:

AADSTS50058: login_required

I have tried:

  • Different browsers
  • Incognito mode
  • Different Microsoft accounts
  • Verified that I have no active Azure subscriptions

Could someone please check whether my Founders Hub onboarding is stuck or whether my Azure sponsorship can be provisioned manually?

Startup name: Negilu

Website: [Mod Removed]

Thank you.

    Hey there, Bharath M S

    AADSTS50058: login_required

This error code means that it couldn't sign you into your Microsoft account using the session information stored on the web browser. This error is expected when you are unauthenticated and have not yet signed into your account. You can find out more about this error here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity-platform/reference-error-codes#:~:text=account%20through%20PowerShell-,AADSTS50058,-UserInformationNotProvided%20%2D%20Session%20information

However, I wouldn't worry too much about this error at this stage.

During Azure activation I received: "You're not eligible for an Azure free account."

When signing up for the Azure free subscription, the system checks if you are eligible for the subscription. The subscription is only for one person only. If you are unable to sign-up for the Azure free subscription, you will need to sign-up for the Azure pay-as-you-go subscription here: https://azure.microsoft.com//pricing/purchase-options/azure-account

From my understanding, you can still apply for the Microsoft Startups program with a pay-as-you-go subscription. Once you are onboarded, you can complete your business verification to unlock milestone 2 and get $5,000 credits. You can find out more about this here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/startups/microsoft-for-startups/getting-started-mfs

Could someone please check whether my Founders Hub onboarding is stuck or whether my Azure sponsorship can be provisioned manually?

Unfortunately, the staff here are unable to do this. Instead, you would need to contact the Startups support team directly through the Azure portal. You could try this link to reach out to their support team: https://portal.startups.microsoft.com/login

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan
