Laptop getting slow

My HP Core i5 laptop gets very slow when I open too many Chrome tabs or do a lot of work at the same time. Is this normal, or could there be something wrong with my laptop? What should I check first to improve the performance?

    Hi Sarah,

    Web browsers are among the most resource intensive apps installed in Windows these days, if you have many tabs open in Chrome, that may be the cause of the slow performance on your laptop.

    Open Task Manager.

    Select the Performance tab, then click Memory on the left.

    Please provide a screenshot of that window.

    Select the Processes tab in Task Manager, please provide a screenshot of that window.
