    Welcome Benjamin Ruffin,

I understand how frustrating it can be when you are receiving the "We couldn't find your device" error when trying to connect your iPhone to your Windows 10 PC, and you are trying to transfer photos and videos to free up storage on the iPhone.

Before proceeding, could you please clarify:

    • Does the iPhone appear in File Explorer or Device Manager when connected with a USB cable?
    • Are you connecting through a USB cable or attempting to use Phone Link/Wireless connection?

In the meantime, you can try these steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Verify the USB connection

    • Use a different USB cable if available
    • Connect directly to a USB port on the PC instead of a hub
    • Unlock the iPhone before connecting it

Option 2: Check the trust prompt

    • Disconnect and reconnect the iPhone
    • If prompted on the iPhone, select Trust This Computer and enter the device passcode

    Option 3: Restart both devices

    • Restart the iPhone
    • Restart the Windows 10 PC
    • Reconnect the iPhone after both devices have restarted

Option 4: Check for the Apple Mobile Device driver

    • Open Device Manager from the Start menu
    • Expand Portable Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers
    • Look for an Apple-related device entry
    • If present, right-click it and select Update driver

Option 5: Try importing photos through Windows Photos

    • Open the Photos app
    • Select Import
    • Choose From a connected device
    • Check whether the iPhone is detected there

Option 6: If storage is critically low on the iPhone

    • Disconnect the device
    • Restart the iPhone and reconnect it
    • Try transferring a small number of photos first instead of the entire library

I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
