Hello, I need help regaining access to my Azure tenant.

When I try to sign in to the Azure Portal, even in a private browser window, I immediately get error AADSTS5000224 saying my tenant (Default Directory) has been deauthenticated and is no longer available. This is my home tenant, so I cannot sign in anywhere else or open a support request through the portal.

The tenant was in active use until very recently. I am the Global Administrator, and it hosts about a month of hands-on work for an Azure training program I am currently enrolled in (App Services, Azure SQL, Functions, Service Bus, Container Apps). Recreating everything from scratch would be extremely difficult and would block my progress in the program.

I have seen similar cases here where the engineering team was able to re-enable authentication for the tenant. Could a moderator please help me get this case routed to the right team? I can share the tenant ID, my admin UPN, the onmicrosoft domain and the trace details from the error page via private message.

Thank you.

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

AADSTS5000224 means your AAD tenant has been disabled (deauthenticated), usually due to subscription issues, policy violations, or internal Microsoft actions. Since you are the Global Administrator but cannot access the portal, you cannot self-recover. The only practical path is to raise a backend support request through Microsoft: use the Azure support phone line for your region or create a ticket via another active tenant if you have one. Additionally, post your case in the Microsoft Q&A or Azure support forums and request escalation, clearly stating you are locked out of the home tenant. Microsoft support can re-enable the tenant if it is eligible, but there is no workaround from your side until they act.
