Cannot recover Hotmail account

Hello,

I am trying to recover my Hotmail account (******@hotmail.com), but I have been locked out after entering the wrong password multiple times.

The recovery process requires a verification code that is sent to my old phone number, which I no longer have access to.

I also tried the Microsoft account recovery form several times, but it keeps getting rejected because the account is very old and I cannot remember enough details such as old contacts or emails I previously sent.

I am the legitimate owner of this account. The name used when creating the account is exactly the same as the name on my government-issued ID. I can also provide additional proof of ownership if needed, including:

  • A copy of my government ID.
  • Emails that were sent from this account to another email address that I currently own.
  • Personal photos and Excel files that I previously sent from this account.

This email account is extremely important because many of my social media accounts, gaming accounts, and digital wallet accounts are linked to it.

Could a Microsoft Support representative please advise me on whether there is any way to verify my identity manually or escalate my case to the Account Recovery Team?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Just to clarify, did you have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account?

Important: If you have an active 2FA, ACSR will inform you that your recovery request will be ignored. If you only receive a message that the recovery request is either successful or indicates insufficient information, this means that 2FA is disabled.

For clarification, may I know when was the last time you successfully signed in to your account?

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
