Hi Everyone

We're currently gathering pricing information for SQL Server as we're planning to purchase a license. If anyone has the latest pricing for the SQL Server Standard and Enterprise editions, could you please share it? Thanks!

Thanks

Jhols

The AI gave you the pricing for SQL 2022 which is somewhat funny since now that SQL 2025 is out, it is probably not even possible to buy to SQL 2022. I never buy SQL Server myself, so I don't know any prices. However, I seem to recall that Microsoft announced that pricing would not change with the new release. Thus, the answer from the AI are likely to be correct.

Keep in mind that this is a technical forum, and it is not a good place to get answers about commercial or legal questions. It is better to reach out to Microsoft's commercial channels or a reseller.

Based on the provided information, indicative current list prices for SQL Server 2022 are:

    • SQL Server Standard Edition
      • Per core (2‑core pack): about US$3,945
      • Server + CAL model:
        • Server license: about US$989
        • Client Access License (CAL): about US$230 per user/device
    • SQL Server Enterprise Edition
      • Per core (2‑core pack): about US$15,000–US$15,123

These are approximate list prices; actual cost depends on region, reseller, agreement type (e.g., volume licensing, CSP), and whether Software Assurance is included.

For the most accurate and up‑to‑date pricing, use the official SQL Server pricing page and/or contact a Microsoft licensing partner or reseller.
