Surface app not showing all options

Recently, I found that the Surface app fails to load all options related to my Surface Pro 11. Most importantly, the Battery & charging option.

This issue can be temporarily fixed by resetting or reinstalling the app, but the options vanish again after the first launch of the app.

The problem stops me from seeing my peripheral Surface devices, and I cannot adjust the charging limit conveniently, which requires an app reset every time.

I have tried using 'sfc /scannow', DISM restore health, 'Fix problem using Windows Update', and manually updated my Surface's drivers and firmware, but none of them fixes the app.Screenshot 2026-07-02 071610

    Hi enlang cao,

Thanks for sharing the details. I can understand how frustrating this is, especially when the option comes back only after resetting or reinstalling the Surface app, then disappears again after the next launch.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm a few things?

    • What version of the Surface app are you currently using? You can check this from Microsoft Store > Library/Downloads or Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Surface > Advanced options.
    • What Windows 11 version/build is installed on your Surface Pro 11?
    • Are you using a Windows Insider build, or a regular public release of Windows?
    • Does the Battery & charging option appear if you test with a new local Windows user profile?
    • Are your Surface accessories still visible under Settings > Bluetooth & devices, even when they disappear from the Surface app?

In the meantime, please try these steps:

    • Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit to check for device-specific issues and missing updates.
    • If possible, test the app in a new Windows user profile. If the option works there but not in your current profile, the issue may be related to the app data or user profile configuration.

Since you have already tried SFC, DISM, Windows Update repair, and manual firmware/driver updates, if the issue still keeps coming back after the steps above, I’d recommend sending feedback through Feedback Hub or the Surface app feedback option, including your Surface app version, Windows build, screenshots, and the fact that resetting the app only fixes it temporarily.

Please also note that this is a user-to-user support forum, so moderators and contributors cannot directly check device logs or push a fix to your device.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective path. Thank you so much for your understanding.
