Redeeming Microsoft Rewards points for gift cards can fail for several common reasons. For Bing/Microsoft Rewards redemptions, check the following:

1. Phone/SMS verification requirements
   • Make sure a mobile or landline number (not VoIP) is used for SMS verification. VoIP numbers are not permitted.

2. Region and network restrictions
   • Rewards points must be redeemed in the same region where the Microsoft Rewards account was registered. Attempting to redeem in multiple regions or from outside the current market can block redemptions or cause orders to be cancelled.
   • Do not use a VPN when redeeming points; VPN use is a common reason for redemption failures or order cancellations.
3. Phone number usage limits
   • There is a maximum number of allowed redemptions per single phone number. If that limit is reached, further redemptions may be blocked.
4. Reward availability / stock
   • Even if a reward (like Amazon or PVR gift cards) appears in stock, the specific item can still be out of stock or unavailable at the moment of redemption. Orders may be cancelled for this reason.
5. Check order status and codes
   • After a successful redemption, go to your Microsoft Rewards dashboard → Redeem → Order history and check the Status of the order.
   • From Order history, open Order Details to see the gift card code or redemption link. If needed, use Resend to get the confirmation email again.
   • If a redemption code is shown as invalid on the partner site (for example, Amazon or another retailer), verify that the code is entered correctly and that the correct region/site is used. If it still fails, contact Microsoft Rewards Support as indicated in the Rewards help.
6. When redemption is blocked entirely
   • If redemption is consistently blocked (no order created, or repeated errors), ensure:
     • No VPN is active.
     • A valid mobile/landline number is configured and used for SMS verification.
     • The account is not attempting to redeem from outside its registered region.
   • If all of the above are correct and redemption still does not work, use the Microsoft Rewards Support contact options from the Rewards help pages to have the account and recent redemption attempts reviewed.
