secure boot certificates not on my computer yet

You do not need to scrap your computer — what you are seeing is a known and documented Microsoft issue.

The message:

“Secure Boot is on, but your device is affected by a known issue… Secure Boot certificate updates are temporarily paused…”

means that Microsoft and OEM partners (including HP) are currently blocking Secure Boot certificate updates on purpose.

This is a global pause, not a failure on your device.

A few important points:

Your Secure Boot is still working.

The green check mark is not false — it means Secure Boot is active.

The “paused” message only refers to certificate rotation updates, not the Secure Boot protection itself.

Manually updating will always show “false” because Microsoft has disabled certificate delivery until the fix is ready.

You only need to wait.

Once Microsoft completes the supported resolution, the certificate update will resume automatically and the warning will disappear.

Your computer is safe to use, and nothing is wrong with your hardware.
