We are unable to register for partner.microsoft.com because it says our account does not have an Entra ID. We have two logins, one is the linkedin email, the other is my company email. Neither works and I can't submit a support ticket on partner.microsoft.com because we are not authorized to.

Please help

Microsoft Security | Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Entra ID

Hello Geoffrey Mintz,

Greetings! Thanks for raising this question in the Q&A forum.

Partner Center requires signing in with a work or school account that is tied to a Microsoft Entra ID tenant. Personal Microsoft accounts (which is what a LinkedIn-linked login typically is, since LinkedIn sign-in flows through a consumer Microsoft account rather than an organizational one) do not have an Entra tenant behind them, so Partner Center rejects them with exactly the error you are seeing. Your company email address not working points to a second, separate problem, which is that your company either does not yet have a Microsoft Entra tenant at all, or your specific account within that tenant is not the one Partner Center is checking against.

  1. Confirm whether your company already has a Microsoft Entra tenant Sign in to the Azure portal with your company email address and check whether a tenant exists.
https://portal.azure.com > Microsoft Entra ID > Overview

If you can sign in and see a Primary domain matching your company's domain name, your company already has a tenant, in which case the issue is more likely that your specific user account inside that tenant needs the right role, or you have more than one Entra tenant and are registering with the wrong one. If you get an error saying the account does not exist or cannot find a directory, your company does not have an Entra tenant tied to that email yet.

  1. If no tenant exists, create one for free You do not need an Azure subscription to create a Microsoft Entra tenant, and Partner Center registration itself is free. You can create a tenant directly from the Entra admin center.
https://entra.microsoft.com > Identity > Overview > Manage tenants > Create

Once created, sign in to Partner Center using the new work account from that tenant (formatted as ******@yourcompany.com or ******@yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com), not your personal or LinkedIn-linked account.

Stop trying to register with the LinkedIn-linked login Since that login is a personal Microsoft account with no Entra tenant attached, it will never satisfy Partner Center's requirement no matter how many times you retry. Reserve that account for LinkedIn only and use a proper Entra work account for Partner Center going forward.

Work around the support ticket restriction Since Partner Center's own support ticket system requires an authorized account to submit a case, and that is exactly what you are blocked from creating, use one of these alternate channels instead, since they do not require existing Partner Center authorization.

https://support.microsoft.com (select Partner Center under Business, then Contact Support)
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/support/get-help-support (lists phone-based Global Partner Support Center contacts by region)
  1. If you are the only person at your company and unsure who owns any existing tenant If your company has used Microsoft 365, Azure, or Dynamics before, an Entra tenant likely already exists under someone else's admin account even if you have never used it. Check with anyone at your company who manages IT or email before creating a brand new tenant, since Partner Center strongly discourages having multiple Entra tenants tied to the same organization and it can complicate things later if a second one is created unnecessarily.
