File is on autosave and I opened an old file that I believe cancelled the current one. How can I retrieve a file from yesterday?

Hello, I am Mite, and I am here to help.

    Please try this:

    1. Open the Excel file.
    2. Go to File > Info > Version History.
    3. Look for a version from yesterday.
    4. Open that version to check whether it contains the data you need.
    5. If it is correct, choose Restore or save it as a separate copy first.

I recommend saving a copy of the current file first, so you do not accidentally overwrite anything while trying to recover the older version.

You can also check Excel’s unsaved files recovery:

File > Info > Manage Workbook > Recover Unsaved Workbooks
