Display too large

Unfortunately, no one knows which version of Windows you have. Here are instructions for Windows 11:

Go to: Start > Settings > System > Display

Under "Scale" choose the Recommended scale. In the illustration below the scale is 100%.

Under "Resolution" choose the Recommended resolution. In the illustration it's 1920 x 1080.

Under "Display orientation" choose Landscape or Picture. Choose Landscape if your monitor is more wide than tall.

Your screen is cut off. That is because the display settings on your monitor or the screen resolution on your Chromebook are not right. This is a problem with how the hardware talks to each other, and it can be fixed easily.

Step 1: Use the buttons on your monitor.

The fastest way to fix this is to make your monitor automatically fix itself to work with your Chromebook.

Find the buttons on the bottom or back of your monitor.

• Look for a button that says "Auto" or "Menu."

Press the Auto button and your monitor will fix the image by itself.

• If you do not see an Auto button, open the menu. Look for "Display" or "Image Settings" and select "Auto-Adjust" or change the horizontal position.

Step 2: Change the display settings on your Chromebook.

• If the buttons on your monitor do not work, your Chromebook is sending the signal.

Click on the time in the right corner of your Chromebook screen.

Click on the Settings icon that looks like a gear.

Select Device. Then click on Displays.

Click on the icon for your monitor at the top.

• Look for where it says "Display Size" or "Resolution" and move the slider until the text fits on your screen.
• If you see overscan, use the arrows to adjust it until the frame fits your monitor.

Step 3: Check the aspect ratio on your monitor.

• Your monitor might be in the viewing mode.

Use the menu button on your monitor again.

• Look for "Aspect Ratio" or "Aspect." Change it from "Wide" or "Zoom" to "16:9" or "Auto/Fit."

Hi, since you are using an external monitor, there should be a physical button on your monitor to adjust your screen.

If that doesn't work, open the Graphics card control panel and adjust the aspect ratio.
