Microsoft 365 and Office Redeem and activate MAC OS

I purchased a MacBook Air and am having trouble redeming the Microsoft products I also purchased. I have a PC that I also use these products on, but I do NOT want to wait until that subscription expires to download them on the new device. I purchased another subscription so I can use it on both. Please advise on how to get the new products downloaded on the Macbook Air now.

Note that you do not need two subscriptions just because you have two devices with different operating systems. A Microsoft subscription can always be installed on multiple devices.

If you try to redeem more than one subscription product into the same Microsoft account, the subscriptions will be added together, if possible.

Note that it won't be possible to add Microsoft 365 Personal to an existing Microsoft 365 Family subscription, though. It is considered a "downgrade" because you purchased a cheaper subscription (Personal) after the more expensive one (Family).

If possible, you should cancel the Personal subscription.

Please go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and let me know what you see there. Do you see your current Microsoft 365 subscription listed?

Please be careful. If you redeem the new subscription using the same Microsoft account, it may only extend your current subscription instead of creating a separate one.

Can you confirm exactly what product you bought? Is it Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Family, or Office Home 2024? Also, where did you buy it, and have you already redeemed the key to a Microsoft account?

I have Family for my PC. I purchased Person at Best Buy in Columbia, MO. I did fill in the redemption code when it was requested. The message I got was that I would have to wait until the one I am using for the PC expired in February, 2027. My intention was to use it on both machines, but I want to make sure I get the version for MAC. This is why I purchased an additional subscription.

@Stefan Blom is correct. You do not need a separate subscription just because the new device is a Mac.

Microsoft 365 Family works on both Windows and Mac. Please go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in with the Microsoft account that has Microsoft 365 Family, then click Install apps. After installing, open Word or Excel on the Mac and sign in with the same account.

The Personal code you redeemed may have been added to your current subscription instead of creating a separate one.
