Why can I no longer insert another Word file into a Word document that I am working on

Which version of Word are you running? The web version which runs in your browser does not support the insert file option.

In the full version of Word (for Windows or macOS), you should be able to use Insert tab > Object > Text from File (as Ferdinand Nanalig has already suggested). Is that the option you have tried? Do you see an error message?

    Hi, please try the steps below;

    Open the WORD document.

    Open the Insert tab.

    In the Text section, click the Object drop-down arrow, then select Object.

    In the dialog box, choose Create from File if you want to insert an existing document, or Create New to create a new embedded document.

    Click Browse and select the file you want to insert.

    If you want the document to appear as an icon instead of displaying its contents, check Display as icon.

    Click OK to insert the document.
