Message not sent due to daily limits

I sent 2 emails today, no attachments or photos. On attempting to send the third email I get this message:

"Your message wasn't sent because there's a daily limit for how many messages can be sent. We've saved it to your drafts folder. For virtually unlimited sending upgrade to Outlook.com premium".

On checking the sending limits for free outlook accounts, it seems to have at least 300 emails a day. I'd be lucky if I sent 10 a day on a busy day. Why am I being told I cannot send 3 emails in a day? What gives?

Hi @Lee

The cause of this problem may not actually be related to email sending limits being exceeded. You may also encounter similar warnings because Microsoft considers the account to be suspicious due to incomplete security steps.

There are a few troubleshooting steps I can recommend to you.

  1. Go to this link and check out "How can I increase sending limits?". https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/sending-limits-in-outlook-com
  2. Your account may have been newly created or marked as spam account. Accounts verified with a phone number are generally considered more secure. If your account is new, please complete your security steps. Adding MFA and recovery email addresses may help.
  3. Your account may have been stolen; check the Sent Items, Deleted Items, and Junk folders.
  4. If the VPN is on, signals coming from different IPs and regions at very short intervals may have caused some restrictions on your account. If your VPN is on, turn it off and try again later.

If these steps are not help to you, feel free to contact to me again.

Best.

YucelD.
