Update disconnected all my devices that are connected to my printer and invalidated certificates

I can't print from my computer, I'm disconnected from my phone, TV, Streaming channels on my computer. What is going on? It changed all my google settings , made everything MS, changed my browser to Bing!

I have no computer know-how so I have no idea how to fix what MS has messed up. Fix it MS!

Hi Paula Baynum,

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially when multiple devices and settings appear to have changed after an update.

To narrow this down further, could you clarify:

  • Is the printer connected by USB or Wi‑Fi?
  • What is the printer brand/model?
  • Did the browser change to Bing only, or were your Google account sign-in settings also changed?
  • Do your phone and TV still connect to your home Wi‑Fi network normally?

In the meantime, if the problem started immediately after a recent Windows update, please try the following:

1, Check whether your printer is still detected by Windows.

  • Open “Settings” > “Devices” > “Printers & scanners”.
  • Confirm that your printer is listed and does not show as Offline.
  • If it is listed, select it and try “Open queue” to see whether print jobs are stuck. Microsoft provides guidance here: Fix printer connection and printing problems in Windows

2, Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.

  • Open “Settings” > “Update & Security” > “Troubleshoot” > “Additional troubleshooters”.
  • Select “Windows Update” and choose “Run the troubleshooter”.
  • Restart the PC after it completes.

3, If the issue began immediately after a specific update, check whether uninstalling that update resolves the problem.

  • Open “Settings” > “Update & Security” > “Windows Update”.
  • Select “View update history” > “Uninstall updates”.
  • Review the most recently installed update. Microsoft documentation: How to uninstall a Windows Update

I had all my certificates nullified with the update. It wreaked havoc at a critical time for me. I used Google AI to walk me through the recovery process. AI got it done & my connectivity is restored. If MS would not have given me a huge computer runaround in a big circle trying to get help immediately, I wouldn't have been so frustrated. Why isn't there a tech support PHONE number for senior citizens wo technical backgrounds? Not everyone who uses MS is a computer geek! And immediate access to help is needed. Someone at MS needs to address this problem!
