A Windows 10 license key does not expire. Once activated, the license is permanent for that device, as long as you keep using the same edition (for example, Windows 10 Pro) on that Dell M2800.
If you buy a retail Windows 10 Pro license, you can usually transfer it later to another PC. If you buy an OEM license, it becomes tied to the Dell laptop and is not transferable.
Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 10 in October 2025, but the license itself still remains valid and Windows will continue to run. The end of support only means Microsoft stops providing regular security updates unless you pay for extended support options.
