on windows 11, i have a file with around 1300 photos on it. when i look through it, and scroll no matter how, with the scroll bar to the side or my mouse, after a few seconds of scrolling the folder jumps back to the start, and im obligated to scroll down again
Maybe the mouse was moved too far away from the scroll bar?
There is a previously reported bug in Windows that may be causing this File Explorer scrolling problem.
Open the Settings App.
Go to Personalization - Background.
If your background is set to Slideshow or Windows Spotlight, change that to Picture and set an image as the background, then restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change.
i do have slideshow activated, does that mean i can either scroll normally or have slideshow?
For testing purposes, please disable the Slideshow and set the background as Picture, then restart your PC to check if it is the big that is causing the problem on your system, please let me know the result.
well you were right, it wotks. is there any way for it to work WHILE slideshow is on?
This bug is intermittent over the last couple of years, most likely after the July update is released you can re-enable the desktop background slideshow again and you will not encounter the File Explorer scrollbar bug.
