I was looking at files in my OneDrive on Tuesday, Thursday , they were gone.

Nothing is in my trash can, nothing is in the vault. I added space, and nothing.

I can’t even restore my OneDrive because my verify option won’t pop up.

I need help finding or restoring. Or better yet, talking to someone who knows how to recover.

I can’t seem to find a way to talk to a Microsoft agent live on the phone or via chat.

    Hi, Brian Rosario

If files vanished from OneDrive on iPhone and they are not in the Recycle Bin or Personal Vault, the first thing to check is whether they are hidden under another Microsoft account, shared folder, or the web version of OneDrive. Microsoft’s restore options are mainly on OneDrive.com, and full OneDrive restore is only available for Microsoft 365 subscribers and only for changes within the last 30 days.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Open OneDrive in a private/incognito browser tab, not the iOS app, and sign in at OneDrive.com. Search for known file names, dates, places, or file types, not just folder names. I recommend using the website because that is where synced files are actually stored.

Check that you are in the correct Microsoft account. If you have a personal, school, work, or old account, sign out and try each one. Missing files are often simply in another account.

On OneDrive.com, check Recycle Bin again. If Personal Vault was involved, unlock the Vault first, then check Recycle Bin, because Vault items may not show until it is unlocked.

If you have Microsoft 365, try “Restore your OneDrive” from OneDrive.com settings and choose a date before Tuesday/Thursday. Be careful, as files created after that restore point may be moved to the Recycle Bin.

If the iOS app is not showing files correctly, reset it: OneDrive app > profile picture > Settings > account > Reset. If needed, reinstall the app after confirming files on OneDrive.com first.

For live help, use Contact Microsoft Support, type “OneDrive files missing”, then choose Contact Support. Mobile users can contact support by opening the OneDrive app and gently shaking the device.
