Add support for Lookups on custom columns

As a moderator, I do not have access to tenant-level deployment information or internal rollout details, so I would not want to provide an inaccurate confirmation. 

Based on the public information currently available, I also could not find any official Microsoft article or public source confirming that this feature has already been released to specific tenants, or that it has been postponed beyond June 2026. The release plan still lists the feature as planned for General Availability in June 2026, but it does not provide a specific tenant rollout status or a minimum Project Operations version associated with this capability.

Based on the information available in the Microsoft release plan, this feature is planned for General Availability in June 2026. However, when a feature is listed with only a month for General Availability, it does not necessarily mean it becomes available to all tenants at the beginning of that month. Microsoft notes that the delivery date can be any day within the listed month, and release timelines may also change. 

This feature is expected to allow Lookup data type fields to be added as enterprise task custom columns in the task grid. It is also described as being enabled by default for customers once released, with no additional configuration required. 

Therefore, if the feature is not yet visible in your tenant, it may be because the rollout has not yet reached your environment or region, or because deployment has not fully completed for your tenant. This does not necessarily indicate an issue with your configuration. 

At this point, I would recommend the following next steps: 

1. Please ensure that your Dynamics 365 Project Operations environment is updated to the latest available version. 
2. Continue monitoring the feature availability until the June 2026 rollout window is fully completed. 
3. If the feature is still unavailable after the expected rollout period, please ask your organization’s IT administrator to open a support request with Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 admin center, so the product/support team can review your specific tenant and environment details.
