Deleting a secondary hotmail account

I understand that you want to delete an old Hotmail account that shows unusual sign-in activity while keeping your Outlook account. Does the old Hotmail address appear under Manage how you sign in to Microsoft as an alias, or can you sign in to it as a completely separate account?

Please also follow these steps:

1) If the Hotmail address is only an alias on the same Microsoft account

Do not close the Microsoft account, because that may also close the Outlook account you want to keep. Instead, go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft, make sure your Outlook address is set as the primary alias, then remove the Hotmail alias if you no longer need it. Please note that Microsoft-domain aliases, such as @hotmail.com ,@outlook.com,@live.com, or @msn.com are permanently deleted when removed and cannot be associated with any Microsoft account again. 2) If the Hotmail address is a separate Microsoft account

Sign out of your current Outlook account, then sign in directly with the old Hotmail account.

After that, you can close the old Microsoft account from the account closure page. To permanently close an Outlook.com or Hotmail account, you need to close the Microsoft account. Once the closure is completed, email and contacts are deleted from Microsoft servers and cannot be recovered. 3) Secure the old Hotmail account before deleting it

Since you saw unusual sign-in activity from Thailand, review the account activity page and mark any activity you do not recognize as This wasn’t me.

4) If you think someone accessed the account

Please:

• Scan the PC for malware.
• Change or reset the password.
• Check connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies.

5) If the page is showing in Thai

In Outlook on the web, go to Settings > General > Language and time, choose your preferred language, then select Save. See: Manage language settings in Outlook | Microsoft Support
