Inserting slides via powerpoint

I am currently trying to embed a slide into another presentation so I can hold the master deck, but individuals can edit the individual slide. The reuse slide feature is not working.

    The Reuse Slides command was deprecated a few months ago. Instead, try pasting the slide using the Keep Source Formatting option. This brings the original slide master and layouts into the presentation to support the pasted slide.
