Why is Viva Engage removing my community admins?

Over the past 2-3 months, we have noticed that Viva Engage is removing Admin access from users in different communities. We have trouble shooted this a few times, with no success. Why is this happening and how do we prevent it from happening again?

To note -- no one has removed the admins, the communities are doing it ITSELF.

    Hi Stephanie Schalago

Based on my research, you may consider using the audit log in Microsoft Purview to investigate this behavior further, as it can help track role and membership changes over time. For reference, you can review: Track Viva Engage events in the Microsoft 365 audit log and with the Management Activity API | Micr…

In addition, I would recommend reaching out to your IT administrator, as they typically have the necessary permissions and tools to perform deeper troubleshooting and validate any changes applied within your environment.

For this scenario, it may also be helpful to review specific audit activities related to Microsoft Entra group administration.

I hope this provides additional insight.
