Hi, S Snow
This usually means the Office apps are trying to read old or broken Microsoft sign-in entries in macOS Keychain, not that your Microsoft password has changed. Repeated prompts can happen if Office is not in the normal /Applications folder, or if Office cannot access the login keychain properly.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
First, make sure Word, Outlook, Excel, etc. are actually in the Mac Applications folder. If they were moved somewhere else, move them back, then open one Office app and choose Always Allow when asked. It may ask up to three times per app.
If Lock Keychain “login” is greyed out, skip that step. Open Keychain Access, search for Microsoft, Office, and Microsoft Identity, then delete the Microsoft Office identity/cache entries. Restart the Mac and open Word first, then sign in again. It is recommended that you choose Always Allow when the prompt returns.
If it still loops, run Microsoft’s Office License Removal Tool, restart, then reactivate Office with the Microsoft account that owns the Microsoft 365 Home subscription. This clears stuck local licensing tokens, not your actual subscription.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
