Hi Jasmeet Singh Johar,

Thank you for the additional information. The error message [0x80070005-0x000004dc-0x00000524] usually indicates that "This message could not be sent. You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user."

I understand that sending works as expected in webmail using the “send as” option, and the issue only occurs in Outlook on Windows.

To better understand your situation, may I kindly ask for some clarification:

1/ Could you please describe how the mailer was created? For example, is it an alias or a shared mailbox, and how was the “send as” permission assigned?

Also, does this mailer appear in your organization in the Microsoft Admin Center?

2/ Could you confirm which version of Outlook is being used, Classic Outlook or the new Outlook?

3/ Would you be able to share a screenshot of the issue through private message?

Please check your inbox for an email with the subject “New private message on Microsoft Q&A question” to review my response. Then select “View message” in the banner above the post to access the private message chat.

    Hi Jasmeet Singh Johar,

To better understand the issue, could you please clarify a few details?

    1. Are you using a personal Outlook.com account, or a Microsoft 365 work/school account?
    2. Which Outlook app are you using: classic Outlook for Windows, new Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, or Outlook mobile?
    3. When you say you created the “mailer,” is it an alias, shared mailbox, distribution list/group, or another mailbox address?
    4. In the Outlook app, what exactly happens when you try to send as that address? For example, is the address not shown, does it send from your main address instead, or do you receive an error?

Since Send as works in Outlook on the web, the setup may be correct on the server side, but the Outlook app behavior can vary depending on the account type and app version. Once you share the details above, we can suggest the most relevant next steps.
