Ever since the latest update Teams app on Android goes into a login Loop even though it works on PC

I have a big problem, I can't login to my Teams app on my Android for my work.

I updated the app on Tuesday night, went to sleep, woke up trying check my e-mail on this account,

and got kicked out of my outlook account and Teams app it seems. Took awhile to be able to log in to outlook,

but Teams just looped onward back to sign in window again.

First I sign in with the password, authenticator pops up, but it won't let me write down a number(it's just Yes, No, or just Abort). I noticed if I abort I am able to write down the number for approval right after, but it will say it wasn't the right one.

If I pushed Yes instead of abort, it just jumps back to teams app logging in, then scrolling through a few blank windows while loading, then jumps back to start where I need to log in, and once again have the need to re-sign in with password.

Obviously it has something to do with the coding of Microsoft's latest update. PC version works fine, but it's not like I can carry a stationary on my back that is half my size around the globe. People of Microsoft, fix this please.

Dear @Robin Johansson,

In this case, I recommend you contacting your IT Admin to run the Teams Sign-in Diagnostics tool in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and review any Conditional Access or Mobile Authentication policy requirements that may be affecting your device.

Here are the references:

In case you do not know who your IT Admin is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Here is a big solution; JUST CONTACT YOUR JOB's IT department. You will probably resolve it very esaily that way.

Everyone who had thesame problem as me like:

Your Android kicking you out after a recent update, and your authenticator showing only "Yes, No, Abort", but in fact you are supposed to ENTER your Number yourself. Even though you pushed Yes, the Teams App loops back to you re-signing again.

WHATEVER YOU DO, do not delete Cache or Re-install the Authenticator app, because that will be the dumbest thing you ever do. You want to know why, you ask? I can't even SIGN IN on my computer now either.

If you are able to sign in on the rest of all the other accounts, but not this specific account that you have trouble with, then just contact your work's IT support.

Please don’t let this turn into a long process. It’s just an MFA reset and should be possible to resolve with a phone call or direct contact with IT.

Do not start with deleting things LEFT and RIGHT, because that advice just puts you in a rabbit-hole that you will never ba able to come out of, just like what happened to me. This all began because of Microsoft's update on my android for TEAMS.

EDIT: For some reason my account on my Android was in Russian/Serbian language. I am neither from Russia, nor speak it. I am from Scandinavia and also have the language on English, mostly.

I think maybe because of that, the delay was ongoing, and an error constantly repeated.

I was also able to log in again, but it looped once first. So I took another alternative, using the 6-figure one time code.

    @Huy-K

I'm confused. Am I supposed to answer here or the other one I answered before?

I will put it here too I guess:

I forgot to mention this too. I have deleted cache several times, on all 2 apps, Outlook, Teams, and now even the Authenicator. Deleted all of the cache, uninstalled all of the apps, Restarted the phone, Re-installed all 3 apps. Tried to log in several times in several ways, and still not working. This is just not happening, and I've lost all my accounts on the authenticator. I blame the recent update. This only happened because I updated 2 days ago.

Edit: Well, now I know this wasn't the window I was supposed to use. Can't delete it either.

    Dear @Robin Johansson,

Based on the symptoms, this looks less like a Teams account/password issue and more like a mobile authentication/token problem between Teams, Microsoft Authenticator and Android cached sign-in data. Kindly try these steps:

1> Clear Teams cache and app data on Android

    Fully close Microsoft Teams.

Open Android Settings > Apps > Microsoft Teams.

Select Storage or Storage & cache > Clear cache

If the issue continues, select Clear data as well.

Restart the phone and try signing in again.

    2> Check Microsoft Authenticator settings

    On the same Android phone:

    Open Microsoft Authenticator.

Make sure the app is updated to the latest version.

Go to Settings and make sure app updates are enabled.

Turn off battery optimization for Authenticator if available.

Make sure notifications are allowed for Authenticator.

Confirm your phone’s date and time are set automatically.

Temporarily disable VPN/private DNS if you use one, then test again.

3> Remove and re-add the work account in Authenticator

On a computer, go to your work account security info page if your organization allows it.

Remove the old Microsoft Authenticator method for this account.

Add Microsoft Authenticator again and scan the new QR code.

After Authenticator is reconfigured, try signing in to Teams on Android again.

4> Reinstall Teams only after clearing the sign-in state

If clearing cache/data does not help:

Uninstall Microsoft Teams> Restart the phone > Install Teams again > Sign in using the work account.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.
