Fortnite and Farming Simulator 25 crash when alt-tabbing

Fortnite (can) crash on launch, Farming Simulator 2 on alt-tabbing and seems to run fine as far as I can tell when not alt-tabbing. Alt-tabbing for sure crashes it after a few minutes of running the game.

There are no corrupt windows files;
Game files have been verified;
XMP profile doesn't change the situation;
I don't run fullscreen, but windowless/borderless

Are there any other fixes known that I can try?

System information:

Windows 10
Motherboard: X570 Aorus Elite
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
RAM: 16GB DDR4 memory

Hi,

What is the GPU?

Do you have any on-screen overlay apps running, like Discord or Overwolf?

Does it only happen with these two games and on Epic?

Oops! GPU is AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (now also added in post)

Fortnite runs through Epic, Farming Simulator 25 through Steam.
No overlay apps are running that I know of, unless the AMD program (that message that pops up as "activated by pressing alt+G"(?)) counts. I don't actively start that up though.

As far as I have tried, no other game I played/used to play has this problem.

Trackmania 2020 runs smoothly through Ubisoft;
Old School RuneScape runs smoothly through Jagex client;
Rematch runs smoothly through Steam;

I will now be testing some other games through steam and/or Epic and see how they react to add to the list above.

Hi,

I was having issues with recent AMD video drivers—this might be the cause of your crashes, especially when Alt-Tabbing. Try running the game in "Maximized Windowed" mode to see if the problem persists.

If possible, go to Device Manager, look under the "Display adapters" tab, and take a screenshot.

The only adapter mentioned is AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
I will try the Maximized Windowed mode. However, for Fortnite, I might not even have the time to run it that way, as it can crash during startup/quickly after startup.

Farming Simulator 25 already loads as windowed.

Hi,

Go into AMD Adrenalin and disable all those options.

Play Fortnite without Lumen; it causes a lot of issues.

Farming Simulator seems to be working now! It is at least holding up for longer already.
