Copilot is not working in Onenote (grey button), but work in work, excel etc. Microsoft 365 Family subscription

Hi,

I have the latest version of OneNote (Version 16.110 (26061317) on Mac, and I am signed in with the same Microsoft account that I use for Word and Excel.

In Word and Excel, the Copilot button is available and clickable. However, in OneNote, the Copilot button is visible but greyed out / not usable.

Could you please confirm whether Copilot in OneNote for Mac is supported for my account type, and whether there are any additional licence or settings requirements? I am using a personal device and the same account across Microsoft 365 apps. I have the Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

    Thank you for reaching out. I understand that Copilot works in Word and Excel on your Mac, but in OneNote the Copilot button appears greyed out and cannot be selected.

    Based on Microsoft’s current guidance, this can be expected with a Microsoft 365 Family subscription. Copilot in OneNote on Mac is listed for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot work/business license, while eligible Microsoft 365 Personal/Family Copilot access for OneNote is mainly available in OneNote for Windows. So, the issue may not be caused by your Mac, OneNote version, or sign-in account, but by the current licensing/platform availability for OneNote on Mac.
