    Hi @muinat murtala-bandaro

Thank you for sharing the screenshot.

The error 0-2048 (0) means the installer cannot find or read the required configuration file. This often happens when installing Project through the Office Deployment Tool or a custom setup package.

In your case, please try the following before reaching out to your IT admin:

    1/ Confirm your Project license

    • Make sure your account has a Project license that includes the desktop app.
    • Please note that some Project plans, such as web-only plans, do not include the desktop application. If Project is not listed under Apps & devices, the license may not be assigned to your account.
    • To check whether your account has been assigned license, please access My subscriptions to check.

2/ Install from Microsoft 365 portal

    • Go to Microsoft 365 website and sign in with the account associated with your Project license.
    • Select Install apps or Install Microsoft 365 apps.
    • Under Apps & devices, check whether Project is available, then select Install.
    • User's image

3/ If you are using setup.exe and configuration.xml

    • Make sure setup.exe and configuration.xml are saved in the same folder.
    • Make sure the file name is exactly configuration.xml, not configuration.xml.txt.
    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator, go to that folder, and run the install command again.

If this is a school or education account, please also contact your school IT administrator to confirm whether Microsoft Project desktop app is included and assigned to your account.

I hope this helps clarify the cause of the installation error. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
