In Word, floral-style backgrounds can be added either as page backgrounds or as images/watermarks behind the text.

To use a floral image as a background in Word (Windows):

1. On the Design tab, select Watermark > Custom Watermark.
2. Choose Picture Watermark and select a floral picture from the computer (for example, a flower photo or floral pattern).
3. Select or clear Washout depending on whether a soft or full-color look is desired.
4. Select OK.

Alternatively, to use a color/texture background instead of a photo:

1. Go to Design > Page Color.
2. Choose a soft color under Theme Colors or Standard Colors.
3. To add a gradient, texture, pattern, or picture, select Fill Effects, then use Gradient, Texture, Pattern, or Picture to create a subtle floral-style background.

If a ready-made floral layout is preferred, pre-built templates can be used as a starting point:

1. In Word, select File > New.
2. Browse the available templates (for example, brochures, cards, or flyers) and look for designs with floral or memorial-appropriate themes.
3. Select the template and choose Create to download and customize it for the memorial announcement.

For Windows desktop backgrounds (if a floral theme is also wanted on the PC), floral Windows themes can be downloaded from the Windows Themes gallery under the Plants & flowers section, such as “Beautiful Blossoms,” “Roses,” or “Spring Blooms,” and then used as inspiration or source images.
