It has so attached itself to Google Chrome that it is actually continually running through my Google Chrome. It is a very large file, with a very long name. I've been told that if the name of the file is extremely long (over the 260 character limit) Windows won't allow it to delete. You can use Command Prompt to delete it directly by shortening its location. I'm tired of continually searching for answers and am looking at using a "unlocker" too to handle this issue. Does anyone have any reviews comparing the top Unlockers that I could review

Hi! Let me help you.

Try deleting it in Safe mode.

If it does not work, please follow the steps below;

To delete the file or folder.

Please download & install 7 Zip from this link https://www.7-zip.org/

(Choose Download 7-Zip 23.01 (2023-06-20) for Windows x64 (64-bit))

Once installed, right-click the file you need to delete, then choose 7 Zip Add to Archive.

The 7 Zip window should come up on your screen. Look for the option that says Delete files after compression, tick the box, then click Okay below.

Once done, it should delete the original folder or file, and then the compressed 7Zip file will remain.

Right-click the 7Zip file, then delete it.

OK....We need to hit total reset. I was just reading through all our communications and WOW! The one reply I sent you was when I had been up for hours going through all the"Suggested fixes to my unremovable PDF file" and was so deep down the rabbit hole, that I couldn't even understand my response to "accept the answer" if it worked.

WELL SCRATCH EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG OR RIGHT ABOUT WHAT WE TRIED TO DO TO FIX THIS "EXASPERATING" DILEMMA. My son, Brandon, had asked me to stop trying all theses "FIXES" that were being sent to me because I asked for help, when he had TOLD ME to just wait and he would come over and "see what I had done this time" to screw up my computer. You have to understand, Brandon is my go to Computer Technician, Handyman, and all round FIXER OF ALL. Not braging but he really is a great kid that helps me out ALL THE TIME, if I would just listen to him instead of thinking that I CAN FIX THINGS TOO.

So, after crashing my computer and screwing up my Windows Connectivity and Adapters, I finally had to listen to my son and wait for him to come over and look at this UNDELETABLE BAD PDF FILE issue.

Yesterday, June 24, 2026, my son, Brandon came over to investigate this "Undeletable Bad PDF File" that I was so worked up about. He spent about 15 minutes going through the usual ways delete a file and then proceeded to (NOTE: in one of my answers to my question about this BAD PDF file that I couldn't get deleted off my system no matter what I tried;- a very nice gentelman, Ferdinand Nanalig, had me install 7-Zip on my computer) SO YOU GET SOME CREDIT ALSO.

My son, Brandon:

Opened the UNDELETABLE BAD PDF file through 7-Zip:

He right-clicked on the BAD PDF file then choose 7-Zip Add to Archive .

He then went into 7-Zip and simply selected delete file.

And, guess what, IT WORKED. IT ABSOLUTLY WORKED just like if you were deleting a file from your desktop. Simple, Right-click on file, delete.

Leson learned....YOU HAVE GOT TO START LISTENING TO YOUR SON

So sorry to be such a pain, but I'm trying to get my problem of : I keep trying to click on the correct "Answer" accepted button, but I keep getting My "Answer" to my question in this blog. I "Accepted the Answer" the gentelman gave me in regards to my UNDELETABLE FILE Question, but somehow I have now got into a loop of this blog sending me notifications that I need to answer a queston I posted. And just by me typing in this Post, I'm feeding the BLOG SEEMINGLY NEVER ENDNG LOOP.

Well, I agree with the "fix" because I haven't had anymore problems but keep getting emails, like this one, that don't seem to have a question? Again, I would like to say thanks to each and everyone of you who helped in figuring out the "Undeletable" FILE issue. Please let me know if there is anything else I'm supposed to be doing because, like I said, I keep getting these emails back referencing the undeletable...... issues. Have a great day.
