Why is Recycle Bin renaming files you are trying to delete?

Windows 11 25H2 26200.8728 Release Preview

I noticed this yesterday and it is still doing it today, has anyone else seen this?

When you delete a file it goes to Recycle Bin. The file name there is correct. You go to delete it from the Recycle Bin and the next window confirming deletion has an entirely different file name. Why is this happening?

    • [Recycle Bin (known issue)] Fixed: This update addresses an issue where the confirmation dialog might display an internal Recycle Bin file name instead of the original file name when permanently deleting a file. This issue might occur after installing the June 2026 security update (KB5094126).
