Follow these steps to get Wireless Display working on Windows 11 25H2:
- Confirm Miracast support and basic connectivity
- Press Windows logo key + K.
- If a message appears saying an external display with a cable is required, the device does not support Miracast and Wireless Display will not be available.
- Make sure Wi‑Fi is turned on from the taskbar quick settings (Network/Sound/Battery icons).
- Install Wireless Display as an optional feature (target PC)
Wireless Display is required only on the PC you are projecting to.
- Select Start > Settings > System > Projecting to this PC.
- Under Add the “Wireless Display” optional feature to project to this PC, select Optional features.
- Select View features.
- In the search box, type wireless display.
- Select the check box next to Wireless Display in the results, then select Next > Install.
- When installation completes, go Back to the Projecting to this PC page and configure discovery preferences.
- Windows is fully updated (Settings > Windows Update) and try again.
- Device drivers (especially display and wireless/network) are up to date, as outdated drivers can affect Miracast and related features.
- Launch the Wireless Display app (target PC)
- In the taskbar search box, type wireless display and select Wireless Display from the results.
- On older builds, the Connect app may be used instead if Wireless Display is not available.
- Connect from the source PC
- On the PC you are projecting from, press Windows logo key + K and select the target PC from the list.
- Alternatively, search for Cast in Windows Search, then select Connect to a wireless display and choose the target PC under Multiple displays.
- If the target PC is not discoverable
- On the target PC, open Settings > System > Projecting to this PC and make sure it is set up to be discovered.
- Verify the Wireless display app is installed and running as above.
If Wireless Display still does not appear as an optional feature after confirming updates and drivers, and the device does support Miracast, contact Microsoft Support for further investigation.
