Transcription tool in Microsoft Word not working

I'm using Microsoft Word to transcribe interviews for my Phd and have never had an issue using it. Now however, I'm unable to upload audio files to transcribe and keep getting this message.

To better understand your situation, may I clarify whether the issue happens when you are using Word for the web?

To confirm whether the Transcribe feature is still functioning, you can try signing in to https://word.cloud.microsoft/using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, as these browsers fully support Transcribe in Word online.

Hi, thanks for your help. I used Transcribe with Word online through the Microsoft Edge browser and that seemed to do the trick.

The Transcribe service has never been included in Mac Office desktop software. AFAIK it is available in the Office Online web apps but is supported only in the Edge & Chrome browsers.

If you have an Education version check with the institution's IT department.
